And one with his loving mama...
Freelance writer Square Sparrow lives on a rambling smallholding in rural Scotland with her husband (HunterGatherer) and, now and then, their three offspring. Other smallholding incumbents include one overly indulged feline called FatCat, a similarly rotund Highland pony called FatHorse, plus a flock of rather attractive Shetland sheep – known affectionately as the Chocolate Sheep because of their rich assortment of wool colours (and because of Square Sparrow’s passion for chocolate).

How cute is that!! Tiny, wee little thing. I would love to be around baby sheep again - it has been a long time.
ReplyDeleteI had calves a couple of decades ago when I was hand milking my tiny herd of two Jerseys, one Guernsey and two Frieisans plus assorted calves. I am fond of farm animals and live now on a quarter acre block, sob!!
My HunterGatherer used to milk two Jersey cows, too, and he speaks very fondly of them. Fences here at the Sparrowholding aren't strong enough for cattle - in fact, they're not always strong enough for sheep! These blasted lambs may be cute, but they are continuously doing circuits of our garden, with me coursing behind them shouting unmentionable things! They are very quick to find the holes in the fence in an exit direction - but not so quick when it comes to finding their way back in :-(.
